Playing small. 🙇♀️ Why do we do that?
When I meet people and they ask what I do, I rarely say that I own my own business.
A majority of the time, I say I work in commercial insurance, which is funny because while insurance may have been my career at one point, it isn't any more. I left it for almost a decade and it is now a part-time gig to support my other goals.
Other times, I'll say that I make some jewelry. But I hear myself as I say it...nonchalant, no big deal, just for fun.
But really...I own my own business. I make jewelry. I am a Reiki practitioner. I do energy work. I encourage people to be intentional. I am working on writing some courses.
I am a work in progress. But I am working on acknowledging what I do to others and claiming my space.
